Morning Bak Kut Teh

This is my absolute favourite Bak Kut Teh shop, the soup is dark and bothers on saltiness and strong herbal fragrance. Not everyone likes their Bak Kut Teh cooked this manner, the fans will love it but the detractors will flame it. I have been patronising this particular stall since 2004 when my ex-colleagues brought me here to sample the extraordinary Bak Kut Teh taste. One mouthful of the soup and you forever fall in love with the taste. I remember back then, the soup was even more flavourful and oily, there wasn't any eat healthy campaign last time. We are solely focused on the good food on offer and no one really cares how many tablespoons of salt we consume on a daily basis. Fast forward to the health conscious society of today, food stalls such as these are now frown upon. People crave wholesomeness and less dark, lighter color soup and even foods like these have to suddenly backtrack and become healthy options. I do not know if this is possible, I find the older group of patrons that used to patronise this ever popular shop have thinned out. Business are not as brisk as before, the overall age of the clientele has trended lower. I, too have become older and have been frequenting this shop less often due to the great distances I have to travel to get here. However, the food still tastes great and the nostalgic flavour brings great memories of yesteryears. I like the oily and sweet salted vegetables, tho unhealthy makes it go with the rice especially well. The braised gravy is deliciously creamy, probably a result of thousand hours of cooking meats nonstop

Decent bkt! auntie also help to chop seat as the market can get quite crowded (very thankful), auntie might not give you her best customer service at times, please spare her considering her age, support local hawker!

The service attitude of the landlady is very good. Come here to spend money feel very happy And the food is rich too.
