Maruhachi - Donburi & Curry

Got takeout and were completely impressed by the quality of this tonkatsu in an unassuming kopitiam! I know it was by a former chef who worked with Ginza Bairin, but to see that the dedication was brought into his own business with way more affordable pricing just made my day. Delicious fried items, be it prawns or pork, made this meal a very enjoyable one. It was also very authentic, especially the curry, reminding me of the flavors I had in Japan.

Was really a fantastic experience having paid much lesser than usual Tonkatsu Restuarant. All the tonkatsu we ordered taste almost identical to japanese restuarants. Its crispy on the outside, soft & tender on the inside. We ordered Blackpig Pork, Normal Pork and Chicken tonkatsu, all are good!

Crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. Restaurant standard at hawker price. Live up to its name. Highly recommended.
