Reviews

The rice flour is infused with the aroma of the bamboo when steamed. Unlike putu piring which tend to get dry, it stays moist even after few hours. Auntie is generous with the palm sugar and she use young shredded coconut with a sprinkle of orange sugar. It was delightful bite.

I fell in love with putu bambu during my indonesia travels. Was disheartened that i can’t find this snack back home in Singapore. Lo and behold i found it by chance! The steamed cake is soft and fragrant. Generously packed with gula and topped with a heaping serving of grated coconut.

This Indonesian snack is rarely found in Singapore and Putu Bambu is paired with coconut and gula melaka.
