Reviews

A bustling market especially during the Lunar New Year period! Lots of stalls selling so many items on the ground level, as well as lots of food at the level two hawker centre. Note that the nearest car park can get very full during weekend peak hours. Love visiting Chinatown when I was a kid and I am glad it is still preserving the culture of old many years later!

There’s something for everyone at this market and it’s worth exploring all the different sections for the full experience. Tourists often miss other good eats because they only focus on Hawker Chan/dumplings. There’s great kway chap here and even vegetarian options for those looking to go meat-free. This place is best experienced in the daytime/during lunch on the weekends.

Hundreds of stalls offering every kind of Asian cuisine you could imagine. I browsed almost the entirety of the place as well and left full AF after having 3 meals in less than 3 hours, and 3 beverages too come to think of it! I don’t know when I will return to Singapore so I had to go into marathon mode. Some TIPS. Cash is king. Expect to queue. Be prepared to order. Be adventurous about trying new things. The best places may be the busiest. After you have experienced the food, don’t forget to go to the Buddha tooth relic temple, as well as stroll through Chinatown and maybe pick up a cheap souvenir or two.
