“2025 Update: Nan Yang Dao @ PLQ was established by Malaysian Chef Jackson Chu, along with his brothers Wee Liow and Vincent Liow. The restaurant specialises in dishes from various regions of Malaysia, such as Penang fried kway teow and Penang assam laksa. Jackson, who previously worked in Chinese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, moved to Singapore about ten years ago. He gained valuable experience cooking Malaysian cuisine while working as a chef for Star Cruises. In Singapore, Jackson further honed his skills in both Asian and Western cuisines at Sentosa Golf Club and Oasia Hotel. The restaurant's signature dish is Penang fried kway teow, which is a popular choice at nearly every table. Other favourites include KL Hokkien mee and Penang assam laksa. Nan Yang Dao @ PLQ awards include Top Business Service and Quality for 2024-2025 and Prestige Singapore 100 for 2024-2025.”
