Shan You Counselling Centre

I love this place and the workshops that they hold here. I attended the mindfulness for yoga workshop held by Shan You counselling centre and it was really lovely. The instructor was kind and friendly and the place serves water and has their own yoga mats and blocks too. Friendly recep too.

Attended a course organised by Shanyou and NIE students. Excellent facilitation by approachable and professional staff. Many programmes to check out.

The receptionist is polite and my son anxiety attack reduced after a few sessions.

TL;DR: The organisation presents strong values on compassion and integrity, but many staff feel there’s a gap between those ideals and daily practice. Frequent leadership changes and unclear decision-making create uncertainty, while flexibility and policies are applied inconsistently. Benefits and staff support have seen little evolution, and feedback is not always welcomed, which affects morale and retention. Overall, the values sound good, but more consistency, transparency, and care in how staff are treated would go a long way toward aligning culture with intent. Reply
