The Pine Garden

One of my all-time favorite cakes is pandan cake. One afternoon, I was walking through Ang Mo Kio when I came across Pine Garden, and I thought I'd sample their pandan cake. I thought it was distinctive from other pandan cakes after tasting it. It has a nostalgic flavor that stays in your palate. I thought it was not only tasty, but also reasonably priced at $5.20 for the full cake. Despite being somewhat eclipsed by Bengawan Solo, CNN Travel lists both of these as must-try Singapore National Cakes.

Had to travel north to get these cake fix! Bought several signature cake slices - lychee martini, mango passion, etc. Also got a slice of traditional cream cake. All were delicious, not overly sweetened.

I love their creativity when it comes to the flavors. Yam one was not too sweet and there were chunks of yam inside. It’s good for Yam lovers. Lychee Martini was good, much sweeter than the yam flavored cake.
