Feng Xiang Bak Kut Teh

It was my first experience with Fried Porridge and it did not disappoint! I went for the sliced fish fried porridge and it’s pretty much what the name suggests. Silky smooth porridge with a strong wok hey flavour, coupled with fresh white fish slices. A definitely must-try especially if you haven’t had fried porridge before! Herbal Bak Kut Teh (soup) was no slouch either, lovely herbal notes shining through the light broth. Pork ribs were tender and I enjoyed the dish overall, though I must admit that I prefer the more peppery Singaporean version.

This is the first time I have fried porridge. I have been hesitating to try this dish because in my mind the two words just don’t gel and it does not look appealing. But the smell of the food here made me wanted to give it a try. It was a great decision. The FX pork cutlet porridge is just so amazing, period. The porridge is full of wok hei, a bit sourish which could be vinegar which makes it very appetising. The pork cutlet is very crispy. The herbal BKT is also very good, and super value for money for the amount of ingredients. For the price, the dishes here is a must try.

Yummy food. Very impressed by the fried porridge. Love the smokiness in it. The bak kut teh was savoury too. Prefer the Geylang Klang bak kut teh more as it is more tasty, but this could be down to personal taste preferences. My only real concern when enjoying a meal that is SOOOO tasty.
