THE INTAN REVIEWS
As an educator stepping into the house so filled with heritage & culture, it is just so amazing! Hearing the stories of how it came about is totally mind-blowing. I enjoyed listening to Alvin’s story of how he decided to collect the different Peranakan artefacts; to remind him of his heritage. It started as his personal collection to now sharing it with a larger audience. Definitely worth the visit.
I'm so glad we finally made a trip to The Intan! Alvin made us feel at home and shared alot of fun facts about the culture which I wouldn't necessarily have paid attention to. Alvin also performed a nice romantic song on the piano as it was our anniversary. Totally recommend this experience to both locals and tourists.
Alvin was a wonderful host, very animated and knowledgeable. He shared from a wealth of his personal experience and the stories were very interesting. The conversations of culture and heritage were very thought-provoking and can be applicable to everyday contexts. Please make an appointment to come.

PERANAKAN HOUSES REVIEWS
Gorgeous houses! I'd been wanting to see these for a while and finally got there. Highly recommend a walk up vibrant Joo Chiat Road (from East Coast Rd) to get there. Lots of interesting things to see on the way. Really enjoyed this area in Singapore and will be staying there for future visits.
History place about Peranakan. The house and the museum not connected. So, visit to see from outside only. Hope for more experience to see inside the peranakan houses To visit here you can go to Eunos MRT St and continue your journey by walking around 1,5km. Not that far though. There's a church nearby, when you see it. That means you're close with the Peranakan House. The Peranakan House is really eye catching so it's easy to find. It also colorful so this is a good place to be a photo spot when you visit Singapore.
These houses actually are gorgeous, but each house actually has their owners. So, please take your pictures but also respect the properties.

EURASIAN HERITAGE GALLERY REVIEWS
First time here. A quiet place with comprehensive information you need to know about Eurasian community. Lot of interesting fun facts. There is a restaurant on the ground floor serving Eurasian food but I didn’t have time to try it. Maybe next time.
Absolutely loved the gallery! Quite small and located on the floors above, there is a lot of history packed into such a small place. I was fascinated by all the memorabilia and stories about the western influence on Singapore. I was even amazed to find my own surname which is quite localised to where I am from displayed amongst the collection with a coat of arms and the reference used which influenced the naming of a street. I spent about 30 mins although could have easily spent an hour going through all of the gallery.
I visited the Eurasian Heritage Gallery during the My Community Festival and it was a very fruitful experience. The guides Alison and Petrina were very passionate and shared many stories and knowledge on Eurasian culture with the participants. The tour also included a delicious 4-course lunch from the Quentin’s on a well decorated table. There was even a “gift exchange” with presents already prepared by the staff. The entire itinerary was well thought out and was full of Christmas vibe.
