There was established in 1986 by the Singapore Chee Hoon Kog Moral Promotion Society, and the original home was inaugurated in 1988 by Mr Wong Kan Seng, the Minister for Community Development and the 2nd Minister for Foreign Affairs. This facility accepts non-paying residents recommended by the Ministry of Community Development and Sports, the Ministry of Health, or the Medical Social Workers of hospitals.
