“Sri Sivan Temple is a venerable sanctuary dedicated to Lord Shiva, the principal deity in Singapore. It extends a warm welcome to devotees not only from Singapore but also from across the globe. The temple offers various services, including external carpentry for events like marriages and ear-piercing ceremonies. The temple observes significant festivals such as Vinayagar Sathurthi, Thirukarthigai, Arudra Dharisanam, Vaikasi Visakam Brahmothsavam, Thiruvembavai Vizha, and Maha Sivarathiri. Additionally, daily prasadam is available for devotees. To create a distinctive and exceptional temple, the Hindu Endowments Board collaborated with renowned temple architects in India. The Board meticulously studied prominent North and South Indian temples to gather inspiration. The result was a unique design featuring an octagonal structure with a versatile hall and staff quarters. Situated on a 3,000 sq. meter plot in Geylang East, the new temple was constructed for $6 million, with skilled artisans from India overseeing the sculptural and ornamental works.
