SHENG HONG TEMPLE
Sheng Hong Temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Jurong East. It was established in the year of 1926. The temple received its statue of Cheng Huang Ye directly from Cheng Huang Miao in Anxi, Fujian, China. The temple wall is painted with scenes from the Ten Courts of Hell, depicting the ten Yama Kings and the Hell guards meting out punishments. As the years grew, the community started growing, and the temple faced a relocation due to urban redevelopment. However, the tranquil and isolated environment of the temple allows visitors and devotees to enjoy the calm and pleasant ambience during prayer or meditation. The beautifully constructed, elegant Buddhist temple has a lot of impressive statues.
