'Palelai Buddhist Temple' has a mission to protect and propagate the Theravada tradition of Lord Buddha's Dhamma-Vinaya for the happiness and welfare of the coming generations of Singaporeans. They set up and manage suitable premises, and build an environment which is helpful to the teaching, practice, and propagation. The temple has primary, Palelai buddha, sima, arahants, meditation and dining halls, murals, library, and the chedi. They support and nurture the individuals who want to dedicate themselves to the objectives of Parivatti (study), Patipatti (practice), Pativedha (realization of Enlightenment), and Dhammaduta (propagation of the Dhamma).

Mangala Vihara Buddhist Temple was established by the late Tripitakacarya Sri Saddharma Vagisvara Upsddhayaya M M Mahaweera Maha Nayaka Thero and developed on its current location which was donated by the late Madam Chew Quee Neo in 1959. Dhamma Classes available in the temple on every Sunday from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. The Shrine Hall engaged most of the ground floor with the kitchen, honorary treasurer’s, and secretary’s rooms. The second level contains lecture-cum-library hall and the Sangha (Monks) quarters. All members and devotees invited to meditate at the shrine hall during the opening hours of the temple. Free meditation and pali chanting classes are available.
