"Mangala Vihara Buddhist Temple welcomes members and devotees to meditate in the shrine hall during its operating hours. Established by the late Tripitakacarya Sri Saddharma Vagisvara Upsddhayaya M M Mahaweera Maha Nayaka Thero, the temple features a thoughtfully designed layout, with the Shrine Hall occupying most of the ground floor, along with a kitchen and rooms for the Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary. The second level includes a lecture space that also serves as a library hall, as well as accommodations for the Sangha. Guided by the founder’s vision, the Singapore Buddhist Pali Society was established, with its members registered as devotees of the temple. Within the Shrine Hall, the temple displays a sacred Buddha footprint beside the altar. Mangala Vihara also houses an extensive collection of Buddhist texts and literature in Pali, English, Chinese, and Burmese, including revered works such as the Pali Canon and the Tipitaka in English, providing a valuable resource for those seeking a deeper understanding of Buddhist teachings.
