This is my go to place for Klang style Bak Kut Teh. Cheap and good. $7 for a bowl of mixed Bak Kut Teh. Comes with rice and a bowl of salted vegetables. The soup is not overpowering in terms of its herbal taste, leaving only undertones of Chinese herbs with each spoonful. I like to mix my soup into the bowl of rice and get a porridge like bowl rice while enjoying the pieces of liver, meat, enoki mushrooms. The salted vegetable is not sweet which I like but there is a strange taste of plastic in it. Maybe skip next time. If you are in the area and the weather is cool, recommend you to try this.
This stall served a different version of bah kut teh, the more herbal type, not the typical peppery version. The pork ribs were well cooked and soft and tender. Easily peeled of from the bones using just the chop sticks. Broth was flavorful and rich. When I was there, there wasn’t many people. But it was late afternoon though so most probably the lunch crowd had gone.
Hokkien style herbal soup bak kut teh. Set meal at S$7 includes a clay pot bak kut teh with a generous portion of well cooked pork ribs, a small side dish and a bowl of rice. Very economical. The soup is tasty and the pork rib is tender. I won't say it is one of the best bak kut teh I had tasted, but it is really not bad. Will definitely consider revisiting.
