“Shanmugam pioneered the establishment of Murugan Hill Temple in Lam San Village, Singapore. The temple, which gained prominence over the years, had its inaugural pooja in 1962, thanks to the support of villagers and RAF employees. Renowned for celebrating Panguni Uthiram, the temple attracts thousands of devotees annually. Distinguished by its unique architecture, distinct from other temples in Singapore, Murugan Hill Temple is dedicated to various deities, including Lord Murugan, Vinayagar, Siva-Shakti, Lord Ganesha, Mariamman, Periyachi, Lakshmi-Narayanan, Nagar, Bairavar, Idumban, Muniandy, and even the Chinese deity Kuan Im. The temple also engages in the daily practice of Annadhanam in a serene setting. Shanmugam, the temple's founder and a plumber affiliated with the RAF, discovered a small statue resembling a shrine of Sri Muneeswaran.
